2. Hosting with Namecheap
This website is hosted on a shared hosting plan provided by Namecheap, Inc., 4600 E Washington St, Suite 300, Phoenix, AZ 85034, USA. When the website is accessed, the hosting provider processes technically necessary connection and access data. This may include the IP address, date and time of access, requested URL or file, referrer, browser and operating-system information, and status or error data.
The processing is necessary to provide the website securely, reliably and without technical errors. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of the website. Where data is processed outside the EU or EEA, the transfer mechanisms provided by the service provider apply.
3. Server log files
Server requests may be logged as part of the shared hosting service. These data are processed in particular for technical troubleshooting, system security and abuse prevention. dennisroy.com does not combine these log data with its own visitor profiles.
4. WordPress and technically necessary functions
dennisroy.com is built with WordPress. WordPress may use cookies or comparable storage mechanisms for administrative sessions and technically necessary functions. Public visitors do not need an account, and the website currently does not offer a public comment function.
5. Local project screenshots
Automatic creation of new previews is only triggered by an administrative action. Visitors are served previously stored local project images only.
The preview images used for portfolio projects are stored on this website’s own hosting and served locally. Normal page views do not connect to an external screenshot service for these project images.
Creating or refreshing a screenshot can only be triggered server-side from the protected WordPress administration area. No personal data of the individual website visitor is transmitted to a screenshot service for this process.
6. Contact form and email communication
If you use the contact form, the information you enter — in particular your name, email address, optional subject and message — is processed in order to handle and answer your enquiry. The information is sent through the WordPress mail function to the contact mailbox and is not stored as a contact request in the WordPress database.
Email communication is handled through a GMX mailbox. The provider is 1&1 Mail & Media GmbH, Karlsruhe branch, Brauerstr. 48, 76135 Karlsruhe, Germany.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your message relates to a contract or pre-contractual communication. General enquiries are processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Data are deleted once they are no longer required to handle the enquiry, unless statutory retention obligations require longer storage.
7. External links to the featured projects
The portfolio links to the websites of the projects presented here and to other external websites. A normal external link does not establish a connection to the destination website merely by being displayed. A connection is established only when you click the link and open the external website; the privacy terms of that website then apply.
8. Analytics, advertising and optional cookies
dennisroy.com currently does not use Google Analytics or comparable browser-based advertising or user tracking. The website’s own code does not currently create advertising cookies or personalised advertising profiles.
If additional analytics, marketing or embedded third-party services are added in the future, their use will be made subject to consent where legally required and this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

Depending on the processing activity, the legal bases may include Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent), Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract or pre-contractual measures), Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (legal obligation) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests). Where storing information on a user’s device or accessing such information requires consent under German law, Section 25 TDDDG is also taken into account.
Personal data are generally retained only for as long as they are required for the relevant purpose or statutory retention obligations apply.

Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection to processing based on legitimate interests. Consent can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.
